Depeche Mode's "Global Spirit Tour" to Be Subject of New Anton Corbijn Documentary
A brand new documentary following Depeche Mode's 2017/2018 "Global Spirits Tour" by Anton Corbijn is set to premiere this fall. The film — titled SPIRITS in the Forest — hits theatres across the globe for one night only on November 21.

SPIRITS in the Forest is aptly named after the band's 2017 album Spirit and the Berlin stage that saw some of the last performances of the tour — Waldbühne or "Forest Stage."

The film will tell the stories of six Depeche Mode fans through the lens of the band's massive 115-performance run on their "Global Spirits Tour." Directed by frequent collaborator Corbijn, SPIRITS in the Forest aims to document the power of the band's music and its unique ability to build community and bring fans together.

"I'm exceptionally proud to share this film and the powerful story that it tells," Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan said in a statement. "It's amazing to see the very real ways that music has impacted the lives of our fans."

The group's Martin Gore added, "In today's world of turmoil and divisiveness, music really can be a force for good and can bring people together."

Where and when the film is set to screen is to be determined. The film's official website will offer more details as they unfold. Tickets go on sale on September 26.

The "Global Spirits Tour" concluded in Toronto on June 11, 2018.
