Published Dec 19, 2018PJ Harvey has revealed plans for a new documentary titled A Dog Called Money. It will premiere in February at German film festival Berlinale 2019.
The film was directed by Harvey's frequent collaborator Seamus Murphy, and it showcases the making of the 2016 album The Hope Six Demolition Project. The name comes from a single that was released shortly after the album's release.
The footage captures Harvey recording in London as part of a live art installation, as well as her travels to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington, D.C.
"Polly and I know and trust each other. Enough for her to travel with me to Afghanistan and other challenging places, and for me to believe she'd bring back magic," Murphy said in a statement. "She then invited me into a big white box behind one-way windows to film every moment of the recording of the songs she brought back. Individually and together, this is our response to what we encountered."
Since releasing The Hope Six Demolition Project, Harvey has also contributed original music to the film Dark River.
