The Original Creator of 'Sonic the Hedgehog' Still Thinks the Movie Could Look Better
Sonic the Hedgehog has been through a lot in the last year. After the film was first revealed with some horrifying images and an ungodly trailer last year, the movie was sent back to the lab for some character redesigns. Yesterday (November 12), we saw the first trailer for the new guy, and nearly everyone was pleased. Well, except for the original Sonic designer.

Yuji Naka, who created the original Sonic, has shared his thoughts on the redesign. He posted a tweet, which reads (as translated by Dualshockers), "This is the new trailer with Sonic's new design. The design is much more Sonic-like now that he's wearing gloves. However, his eyes still aren't joined together, as expected. I can't help but feel weird about that one point. But I'm looking forward to the movie's release."

In fact, not only is Naka still quibbling with the new design, but he also has some strange fondness for the first iteration of the movie Sonic. "It seems they're making it as if the old design didn't exist, as the movie official account's old tweets were deleted," he said. "I wanted to see a special DVD version of the movie which used the old design. Too bad."

Read Yuji Naka's tweets below, where you'll also find the new Sonic the Hedgehog trailer. The movie will arrive on February 14.
