Published May 08, 2012In 2010, Canadian roots music lifers Cowboy Junkies launched The Nomad Series. Now that four-album series is complete, it is being sold as a box set that includes a disc of bonus material, which the group are promoting with a tour of their homeland.
Fans of the band will likely already own four of five discs the box set: the previously released LPs Renmin Park, Demons, Sing in My Meadow, The Wilderness. As for the bonus disc, it contains ten songs. One of them, the Vic Chesnutt cover "Old Hotel," is streaming at the bottom of the page. As you may remember, 2011's Demons was a Vic Chesnutt covers album.
You can order a copy from Latent Recordings (although it is currently listed as unavailable). For an additional taste of the music included in the box set, watch a newly unveiled music video for the track "Unanswered Letter" from The Wilderness below. As previously confirmed, Coyboy Junkies plan to follow up the The Nomad Series box set with a book that further explains each album.
To help spread the world about all of their new material, Cowboy Junkies are hitting the road this June and July with John Mellencamp. See the schedule below.
