Published Aug 24, 2016After sharing their "Cave Eater" video with us earlier this month, Canadian post-hardcore quartet Sparrows have lifted the curtain on the details behind their forthcoming album. Titled Let the Silence Stay Where It Was, the record will touch down this fall through New Damage Records.
A press release states that the band showcase "their arsenal of crushing riffs coupled with intricate and ethereal melodic passages, a sharp sense of dynamics, and vocals that sway effortlessly from delicate to devastating" on the new release, all while staying true to their signature sound.
In making their musical ideas reality, the band continued recording with engineer/producer Kenny Bridges (Moneen), who has been working with the band since their 2011 EP Goliath.
"One thing I've learned over the years with Sparrows is we never take the simple route," Bridges said in a statement. "We are always searching for a new sound or new way to approach a song. It's that creativity that keeps us coming back to work together. They are taking chances that other bands just aren't taking anymore."
A finally cemented lineup makes a difference in the mind of guitarist/vocalist Dan Thomson. "We just all seemed to be on the same wavelength," he explained. "It was a bit tough for me at times, but in the end, the music is stronger than ever, and so is our bond as a band."
