Rather than show off some of his Patriots Day work, Reznor and scoring pal Atticus Ross have shared a brief snippet of music they've composed for the new climate change documentary Before the Flood, which was directed by Fisher Stevens and produced in part by Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese.
The clip arrives via an Instagram post and features a clip of a song titled "A Minute to Breathe." And as you'll hear below, that's exactly what Reznor sings here, adding in the post description that"the full soundtrack will be out soon." Alluding to his recently NIN teasing, Reznor also wrote, "THIS IS NOT NEW NINE INCH NAILS!"
Along with Reznor and Ross, Mogwai and Last of Us composer Gustavo Santaolalla did the score for the film. So far, though, there's no firm due date for the soundtrack release.
Before the Flood is set to debut on October 30 on the National Geographic Channel.
THIS IS NOT NEW NINE INCH NAILS! Here is an excerpt of the new song "a minute to breathe" that Atticus and I wrote for the upcoming film Before the Flood, which airs globally in 171 countries and 45 languages on the National Geographic Channel starting October 30. The full soundtrack will be out soon and is a collaboration between us, Gustavo Santaolalla and Mogwai.
