Published Apr 27, 2017Waterstock will be dousing Erin, ON, with some sweet tunes this summer in support of the "Water for Life Not Profit" movement, and organizers have just unveiled the first round of performers for the event.
Bry Webb of Constantines, Reuben Bullock of Reuben and the Dark, and Band of People are slated to headline the one-day festival, which takes place from 12-5 p.m. on June 11 at the Erin Fairgrounds and co-presented by the Wellington Water Watchers and Riverfest Elora.
UPDATE (5/5, 12:35 p.m. EDT): The fest has now added Jim Cuddy and Harrow Fair.
UPDATE (5/25, 4 p.m. EDT): The event has now added even more artists, including Oh Susanna, JF Robitaille and Lail Arad, Digging Roots, Shannon Kingsbury, Test Their Logik and Moscow Apartment
The event will also feature an "informative discussion" with Tyler and Alex Mifflin of the TVO series The Water Brothers. In addition to performances and presentations, a press release also promises a day packed with artisanal food and beverage, artistic displays and protest.
As well as an afternoon of entertainment, Waterstock will also serve as a rally to send a message to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne "to protect our water against corporate control and exploitation."

Tickets are available for just $10, with proceeds going towards the cost of the event, funding campaigns to keep water public and the Chippewa on the Thames legal fund. They're currently on sale here.
